Chapter 5

It was 11:45 pm. Maddie and Lia were watching cameras. Yes, Lia was shocked. It seemed like she was living in one of her gun games.

"You know how tired I am," Lia whispered. Maddie looked at her. "Don't you feel regret for treating your siblings wrong? You start remembering how you were rude to your mom or one of your family members?"

Maddie nodded. "I swear I am so scared right now," Lia was being honest. "Those people that weren't even guilty, what if they are dead?" Lia slowly started crying.

"It's okay," Maddie's eyes filled with tears and she hugged Lia. She still kept her eyes on the screen. Poor Lia, who knows what she had to go through? She is usually a gamer and maybe now realized something different just now.

"Hey," Maddie tried to rock Lia from crying. "It's okay to cry." The girls weren't friends and when Maddie saw Gracie hang out with Lia, she kind of judged her. But deep inside, she felt bad.

Lia was like everyone else afraid to face the world's reality. The girl's started talking and Maddie started to realize more about Lia.

Lia was a sweet person, but because she was a gamer she would hide this inside of her.

It was already 12:25 and one of the girls had to wake up Lola and Gracie. Lia decided to wake them up and go to sleep.

Maddie told them if there was anything suspicious to watch on the camera. Lola and Gracie stood up quietly and watched the screen.

As Maddie could finally get her nap she thought about it. James is really smart. He could've put me and Lola together but the lack of social that we all don't have, he was just trying to build it by making partners. Maddie got knocked out fast.

Esther opened her eyes. Mark and Egor were above her. "Sweetie," Egor asked. "You mind giving us an hour to sleep. It's your turn to watch the cameras."

Esther jumped up and smacked Egor. "DON'T EVEN TALK TO ME LIKE THAT, BEFORE I HURT YOUR GUTS. YOU PERVERT. You know how disgusting it looks like when you act like that?"

"Sheesh," Egor made a face. "At least you woke up."

"Can you actually quit that," Esther took a step towards the laptop, "Anyways anything suspicious?"

"There were a few guards walking in the gym room," Mark remembered. "Are they still there?" Esther asked. "Yes," Mark nodded.

"Okay go to sleep." Esther sat down. It was 3:59. I need to start doing my shift. She watched the laptop closely but more important than that she felt like James needed help.

He seemed upset about it yesterday. Her eyes landed on the coffee machine.
